Juanito miró afuera una noche oscura y descubrió que la luna no se veía por ningún lado. ¿A dónde pudo haber ido? ¿Se esconde debajo de la cama o detrás de una gran montaña? Se pregunta si el coyote lo llevó a su guarida, pero el astuto canino no pudo atrapar la luna resbaladiza. "Aaah-ooooooh, aaaah-ooooooh, aaaah-ooooooh", llora con tristeza. ¡Quizás los chillidos ensordecedores de la cigarra la hicieron desaparecer! ¿O el búho hechizó a la luna luminosa? ¡Quizás la rana lo ahogó en la laguna! ¿Es posible que las brillantes luces de las luciérnagas hayan ocultado su brillo? ¡Juanito simplemente no lo sabe!
Description
Juanito looked outside one dark night and discovered the moon was nowhere to be seen! Where could it have gone? Is it hiding under the bed or behind a great mountain? He wonders if the coyote took it to his lair, but the wily canine couldn't catch the slippery moon. "Aaah-ooooooh, aaaah-ooooooh, aaaah-ooooooh," he cries sadly. Maybe the cicada's deafening screeches made it disappear! Or did the owl bewitch the luminous moon? Perhaps the frog drowned it in the lagoon! Could the fireflies' bright lights have hidden its glow? Juanito just doesn't know!
