Notes

General Note
"The text in Edward Ellis's nineteenth-century, The hunters of the Ozark, remains unmodernized in this reprint edition. Only a small text change was made to make sure the story was set in the proper century and a number of typographical errors were corrected."
Description
When sixteen-year-old Fred Linden and his fifteen-year-old friend Terry Clark set out to join a party of hunters and trappers in the Louisiana Territory of the late eighteenth century, a Shawanoe warrior called Deerfoot comes to their aid more than once when they encounter danger in the Ozark Mountains.
